Raven: Mike Clifford performed live with ATL

Hey people! How’s life? I’m personally dying here… like the fangirl I am.

Two days ago Michael Clifford (perfect guitarist from 5 Seconds of Summer) went to an All Time Low (♥) concert and performed with the band “Dear Maria, Count Me In”, the first ATL hit, and “American Idiot” by Green Day.

It was epic. I’d have love to be there. And you can see Mike agrees with me because he just looks so happy playing on a stage with his idols, the ones that inspired him to be the musician he is today… so many feelings.

I’ll also leave a video down below. Hope you have a great week!

Raven: Confident

Accepting myself was always hard for me. Maybe because of the hard times I went through when I was in school, I don’t know but it’s an everyday struggle for me to accept my body and not feel ashamed about it. It takes dedication, patience and persistence.

For example, every day I have to stand up in front of the mirror and tell myself that I’m pretty and that I like my body as it is just to get through the day without feeling a piece of crap . It’s really hard; somedays I don’t feel strong enough to do it, somedays I just drown in my own little bucket of darkness.

Luckily I know there are people I can count on in this endless journey: unconditional friends like Dest, my family and also people who don’t know me at all: artists.

There’s a song by Simple Plan called “This song saved my life” that gets to the exact point where I’m heading to. In those days when darkness surrounds you, you need a spark of inspiration, a light to guide you out of the daze you’re in, a role model, someone to look up to.

That’s what Demetria Lovato means to me. As known, Demi herself has been through hard times that happen to be similar to mine. She took her experience to inspire people to stay strong, be brave, be warriors, and be confident. Her songs have been a great help to me to keep moving on, fight my demons and just try to make ME happy comfortable.

Three days ago the music video for her new song “Confident” was released and it’s amazing. It’s a great mixture of an amazing and inspiring song and a cool badass video (that, if you ask me works perfectly as a metaphor about empowering women).

I’ll leave you guys with the video. Hope you enjoy 🙂

Raven: Brendon Urie covers Halsey

Earlier this week Brendon Urie (from Panic! at the Disco) made a livestream on Periscope, during which he covered the song “New Americana” by Halsey.

He finished the cover with a big shout-out to Halsey and her new album Badlands, I think in response of a tweet of her about Panic! at the Disco’s new album A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out. She tweeted: “A Fever You Can’t Sweat out is my favorite album ever wow”.

In my opinion it’s amazing that artists support, respect and promote each other’s work, specially in the time we live in, when it seems to be more important to sell a record than making music just for devotion to the art.

So finally I’ll leave you guys with a video of the cover that a lovely YouTube account (Brendon Urie Vines) recorded from de livestream. And if doesn’t even ring a bell when you read the names of Halsey, Brendon, and Panic!, you should go straight to google them and check that music out, you’re missing a lot.

Hope you enjoyed! This is Raven checking out…

See y’all weridos tomorrow!

Raven: The Originals’ panel at Comic Con 2015

Let me clear something out: I’m a HUGE fan of The Originals.

The Originals is a spin-off series of The Vampire Diaries series and follows the story of the Mikaelson family, the original vampires.

With season three coming out in two days, TWO DAYS, I can’t help but to share with you a video of the cast talking about this upcoming season at this year’s Comic Con.

Just wanted to warn you that if you haven’t seen the series yet but you’re planning to or you are somewhere in the two first seasons, this video could contain spoilers. Otherwise, is a really enjoyable and fun video to watch.

Raven: Best album of history.

It is crazy the impact music can have in a human being, how a song can change your mood every time you listen to it, how a band can change your life, or how an album can be the perfect soundtrack for every moment of your existence. The last example is exactly my case with the album I consider the most wonderful creation: American Idiot by Green Day.

Why I love it? I don’t know. I could say because it’s because it’s a conceptual album and I’m fascinated by the story its songs tell in 57:12 minutes and the way the end of each song is linked perfectly with the beginning of the next, but Green Day aren’t the first ones in do this in an album and American Idiot isn’t the first and won’t be the last conceptual album ever created.

I don’t know what it is but I love this album since the first time I listened to it and blew my mind. When I don’t have motivation to carry on, when I’m feeling blue or even alone, hopeless and misunderstood, all I need are speakers American Idiot spinning loudly. I can’t even choose a favorite song from it, I feel it as a whole, a source of life force.

I could spend hours writing about this but you’ll never understand something like this if you don’t experience it so I’ll link a video below in which someone called Kytampis compiled the album and then uploaded it to YouTube. I know, I know… it’s illegal, but sharing something like this to the world for free I’ll say it’s like charity.

Destiny: Bad Day

Hello world! I decided to share my favorite song in the whole world with you. If you haven’t seen the video go check it now! It will totally change your like it changed mine. Thanks to Daniel P. for writing this amazing lyrics that will go on with me in this journey called ”life”.  wishes you all a very nice day 🙂

Where is the moment we needed the most
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost
They tell me your blue skies fade to gray
They tell me your passion’s gone away
And I don’t need no carryin’ on
You stand in the line just to hit a new low
You’re faking a smile with the coffee you go
You tell me your life’s been way off line
You’re falling to pieces every time
And I don’t need no carryin’ on
Because you had a bad day
You’re taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don’t know
You tell me don’t lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
The camera don’t lie
You’re coming back down and you really don’t mind
You had a bad day
You had a bad day
Will you need a blue sky holiday?
The point is they laugh at what you say
And I don’t need no carryin’ on
You had a bad day
You’re taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don’t know
You tell me don’t lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
The camera don’t lie
You’re coming back down and you really don’t mind
You had a bad day
(Oooh.. a holiday..)
Sometimes the system goes on the blink
And the whole thing turns out wrong
You might not make it back and you know
That you could be well oh that strong
And I’m not wrong
(yeah…)
So where is the passion when you need it the most
Oh you and I
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost
Cause you had a bad day
You’re taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don’t know
You tell me don’t lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
You’ve seen what you like
And how does it feel for one more time
You had a bad day
You had a bad day
